Mumbai: Mumbai Police has arrested a 35-year-old man from Nashik in connection with Hyderabad techie Esther Anuhya's rape and murder case.

23-year-old Esther Anuhya was missing since January 5 and her badly decomposed body was found on the Eastern Express Highway on January 16.

Anuhya had gone to her native place in Vijaywada of Andhra Pradesh to celebrate Christmas and New year. While returning to Mumbai she had alighted at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on 5th January after which she was missing.

She was working with TCS in suburban Goregaon in Mumbai.

Mumbai Police has cracked the case with the help of a CCTV footage from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, the footage shows a man taking Anuhya along with her luggage.

Police sources claim that the arrested person is the same man who was seen escorting the deceased out of the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in CCTV footage and has confessed to the crime.

On Sunday, sources close to the investigation said the special Investigating team (SIT) inquiring into the murder has matched the suspect to the person seen walking with Esther in the CCTV footage from LTT on January 5 when she arrived in city from Machlipatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
