Monsoon rains lash Mumbai, several areas waterlogged

Mumbai, Jun 9: Heavy monsoon rains lashed Mumbai since last night resulting in waterlogging in several localities.




Dadar, Worli, Hindmata, Parel, Wadala, Bandra, Santacruz, Ghatkopar, Kurla, King's circle, Sion witnessed waterlogging.

Met department sources said, rains would continue for the next 24 hours with intrmittent heavy rainfall.

Till 5:30 am this morning, Colaba recorded 32 mm rainfall, while the suburbs recorded 36 mm at Santacruz.

Waterlogging was the heaviest in Dadar and Hindmata localities affecting vehicular traffic

Suburban trains are running late by 5 to 10 minutes on the harbour and central lines.
