Here's a compilation of the best roadways in India: 1. Mumbai Pune expresswayIt is the first six lane 93 km access controlled tolled expressway.The express way connects Mumbai and Pune. The expressway has reduced the travel time for the cities to 2 hours. Also, the lush green stretch of shelter belt. No two or three wheelers ar permitted on the expressway. The long straight stretches are the best for high speed driving in the country. The scenic hills of Khandala and Lonavla fall on the route, which is like the icing on the cake. 2. Mumbai - Ahmedabad highway The National Highway No. 8 connects Delhi with Mumbai. The highway that connects the financial capital with national capital is one of the busiest. It also passes thorugh important economic giants like Ahemadabad. Many restaurants and hotels fall on the route. 3. Chennai-mahabalipuram roadThe IT corridor connect suburban Chennai begninning Madhya Kailash Temple till Mahabalipuram. The stretch is known as IT corridor due to the IT companies on the way. It is a 1 hour drive. The distance of the road is 55 km. The stretch is a six lane road with service lanes and footpaths. Townships, colleges have also been constructed. 4. Coimbatore by passThe Coimbatore bypass connects various national highways and state highways passing through Coimbatore. It connects Neelambur to Madukkarai. Its a 28 Km two length road. 5. Mumbai-goa highwayCommonly referred to as NH-17 connects Panvel (Mumbai) to Kochi passing through Goa. It is the 7th longest highway in India. The road is little bumpy, but the scemic beauty on the way make up for it. It passes through hills, forests, rivers, rivulets, streams. Diveagar is a a nice and calm place to be alone, cut off from the hustling and bustling city life. Head down the Mumbai-Goa highway (NH17) for about 130 kilometers and take a left turn at Mangaon. About 30 kilometers farther and you've reached Diveagar, after taking a right turn at Mhasla.The most peaceful beach of them all; it's beautiful, with a vast expanse of gorgeous sand and surf (about six kilometers long), and a few birds for company.This is where you come to relax. Hubli - Ankola highwayCommonly referred to as National Highway No. 63 connects the two southern states of India- Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It connects Ankola on NH 17 in Karnataka to Gooty NH 7 on in Andhra Pradesh. NH-63 passes through Yellapura, Hubli, Gadag, Koppal, Hosapete, Toranagallu, Bellary and Guntakal and usually traveses east-west. Bedthi river off Hubli- Ankola highway is a picturesque for the travellers 8. Delhi-NOIDA DND flywayDelhi Noida Direct flyway connects Delhi to Noida. Its an eight laned 9.2 km road stretch. 9. NOIDA-Greater Noida expresswayA six laned highway connecting Noida and Greater Noida, is 24.53 km long. Noida , a part the national capital region of Delhi is one of the most developed towns in Uttar Pradesh. It is an industrial and educational hub with a lot of company offices located here, along with many residential colonies. Noida is close to the south east Delhi.Greater Noida, a new suburb, is located 20 kilometers from Noida in the Gautama Budh district of UP. It is also a fast growing planned industrial township, home to many multinationals that have their offices here. As Greater Noida is only 40 kilometers from Delhi, this expressway has reduced the travel time to the commercial centers and residential complexes here. There is lot of real estate development along the route of the Expressway with educational institutes, five star hotels, malls, hospitals and commercial centers in the process of being built.As the Yamuna expressway begins at Greater Noida, the route offers a smooth uninterrupted drive to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal and the top tourist destination of the country. In addition the Yamuna Expressway is less crowded than the NH 2 which runs through the crowded cities of Faridabad, Ballabhgarh and Palwal en route to Agra. 10. Leh- Manali highwayThe Leh–Manali Highway is a highway in northern India connecting Leh in Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir state and Manali in Himachal Pradesh state. It is open for only about four and a half months in a year in summer between May or June, when the snow is cleared by the Border Roads Organisation of Indian army, and mid-October when snowfall again blocks the high passes. It connects Manali valley to Lahaul and Spiti valleys and Zanskar valley in Ladakh. It is a part of NH 21.It is capable of supporting the heaviest of army vehicles.The riding quality is not good at many places and fast speeds can cause discomfort.
