Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan and his Mexican co-star Barbara Mori were manhandled by the crowd during a promotional event for their newly released film 'Kites' on Sunday in Noida.

Thousands turned up at the Great India Place Mall  to get a sneak peek at the glamorous pair and the security men were unable to cope with the massive crowd.

The two were here to address the media about the film, but the crowd entered the venue of the press conference and when Hrithik and Barbara tried to make an exit the crowd went berserk in a bid for autographs and photos.

"Hrithik and Barbara were pushed around and she got her knees bruised. Hrithik was upset about the lack of security and he refused to visit the outlet of a fashion brand that he promotes after the skirmish," said one of the organisers.

'We were not expecting such a turn-out. We had organised a similar event in Mumbai which had a good turn-out, but we did not experience such madness," the organiser added.

The lead pair of 'Kites', which had it's worldwide release on May 21, were visiting to promote the film along with producer Rakesh Roshan.

Hrithik was at the centre of a similar controversy in Shirdi last week, where he was mobbed by the media.

The star went to Shirdi with his family to pray for the success of his film directed by Anurag Basu.

But Hrithik was mobbed by the media and soon lost his cool and faced a backlash for misbehaving with the mediapersons. PTI
