Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh yesterday urged party workers to ensure victory of Congress from all four Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Addressing a meeting of party workers of Kangra Parliamentary constituency at the HPCC office here, he said Congress has set its victory trend by winning the Mandi Lok Sabha bye-election by a huge margin and with a good showing of NSUI in the Student Central Association elections.

Rubbishing charges levelled by BJP in its memorandum submitted to the Governor yesterday, Singh said the hue and cry was only to divert people's attention from its misdeeds during the past five years.

"We have not taken any vindictive action and fulfilled the promises made in our manifesto to probe corruption, irregularities and misdeeds of the government," Singh said.

Referring to the cases made against him during BJP's tenure, Singh said, "I was falsely implicated in two cases, fought a legal battle and got clean chit from the court."

"BJP leaders should take fight to the courts, instead of spreading canards and mislead people," he said.

The meeting discussed strategy and prospects of Congress in Kangra Lok Sabha seat and expressed unanimous view that the party candidate should be announced at the earliest.

AICC secretary Raja Rampal Singh, who is also co-incharge for the party's state affairs, said the 2014 Lok Sabha elections are crucial for the party and focus should be on winning all four seats in the state.
