Surat, Apr 14: Eleven passengers of a luxury bus returning from Mumbai to Amreli in Saurashtra were killed when the bus dashed into a truck-trailer carrying steel roods on Saturday night on National Highway 8.
Ten people died on the spot, while the eleventh succumbed to injuries in the government hospital in Bharuch. Fifteen people have been admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
As the luxury bus from Mumbai reached near Kosamba village adjoining Surat, a truck-trailer carrying steel rods from the opposite side, suddenly crossed the divider and collided into the bus.
Police said, the truck driver lost control over the trailer.
Both the bus and truck drivers died in the mishap.
