New Delhi: Delhi High Court today asked the AAP government to explain rationale behind continuing odd-even formula till Jauary 15.
The court also asked the government to submit a data on pollution to show how much pollution level has diminished during the last six days.
Responding to a PIL challenging the AAP government's odd-even scheme, the court observed that people of Delhi were facing hardship due to this scheme and asked the government whether they can end it by coming Friday.
"What is the need to continue the scheme for 15 days. Can you end odd-even policy by Friday?" the court asked the Delhi government.
"You (AAP govt) will have to admit that you don't have enough public transport to ferry public," the court further observed.
The AAP government's ambitious odd-even formula came into effect on January 1. The city government has claimed that traffic police and civil defence volunteers were doing a good job resulting into decrease in level of air pollution.
