New Delhi: A Delhi Police constable has done the force proud by bagging as many as four medals, including a gold, at the Fairfax 2015 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) held recently in the United States.

Jitender Singh bagged top honours in the 10-m air rifle and also picked up two silver medals in other formats of shooting at WPFG, which took place in Fairfax, Virginia. He rounded off his tally with a bronze.

Omvir Singh Bishnoi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (1st Battalion) cum Sports Officer of Delhi Police, said this is the first time that a constable in the force has achieved such a feat at the event.

"Very hard and timely efforts were made to make Jitender Singh participate in the World Police Games. Singh also worked hard and practised day and night to bring laurels to Delhi Police," said Bishnoi.

Singh's performance occupies a notable place in the list of achievements by Delhi Police teams at sporting events, including in wrestling, kabaddi and athletics, he said.

"There are bundles of congratulations being conveyed from various organisations to Singh on his outstanding victory," said Bishnoi, adding that a "warm welcome" is being put together to mark the triumph.
