Varanasi, April 6 : A two year old child was killed and five other members of a family suffered burn injuries after fire spread due to LPG leak inside a house in Nai Basti under Laksa police station here on Thursday.
Local residents said, the child's mother who was cooking at the time, went upstairs to collect dried clothes, when a strong gale came, and forgot to switch off the LPG supply.
As she returned, and lighted the LPG stove, there was a loud explosion causing fire and major cracks in the building.
The child died odn the spot, while the other five persons were admitted to hospital with burn injuries.
