Itanagar, Mar 27: The Centre will soon release funds to Arunachal Pradesh for paying salaries to teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in the state, Education Minister Bosiram Siram said today.

Union Human Resource Development Ministry's secretary (department of school education & literacy) Rajarshi Bhattacharya assured to release the Centre's share soon when Siram during a meeting highlighted various problems of the state's education sector at New Delhi yesterday.

While the state government has released cent per cent state matching share, the non-release of central share had posed a problem to pay salaries to the SSA teachers and other intervention programmes for the last five months, Siram informed.

The agony of the teachers who face plenty of hardship in schools located in far-flung areas of the landlocked state without fair-weather road is multiplied by non-payment of timely salary, Siram said.

Timely salary payment could be possible only if the Centre released its share on time, he added.
