Howrah: A powerful bomb was found at the Howrah Railway Station in Kolkata on Thursday but it was defused before it could cause any damage.
The bomb was hidden in a plastic bucket at platform number 23 in the new complex building of the station, India TV reporter Anupam Mishra said.
A bomb disposal squad was immediately called which removed the bomb from the platform and defused it.
The bucket was noticed by people at the platform. Soon after realizing that the bucket was lying abandoned, they informed the railway police, which immediately cordoned off the area.
The movement of trains was normal.
