Mandsaur, MP, Nov 13: Fourteen persons, mostly women and children, were drowned in Chambal river when the boat in which they were travelling suddenly capsized.
The mishap took place at Sitamau near Mandsaur on Saturday, when the victims were returning after 'darshan' of a goddess.
There were 19 persons on the boat, out of which five swam ashore, while the remaining lost their lives.
Local administration brought in divers to retrieve the bodies. All the victims belonged to Chimangarh near mandsaur, said Kamal Vaskale, DSP.
