The schedule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day roadshow in Bengaluru toward the end of the week was changed, once more, by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP announced on Friday that the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) examinations on Sunday at 2 p.m. necessitated moving the approximately 26-kilometer-long roadshow to Saturday, May 6.

Meanwhile, BJP MP, Tejasvi Surya said, "On account of NEET exams on 7th of May, Hon. PM Modi directed us to prepone the 26 km road show to the 6th of May and shorten the roadshow distance on 7th to conclude it before 1130 am. His one line directive was - ‘I don’t want even a single medical student in Bengaluru to be inconvenienced’. Proud to belong to a political party that is so sensitive & responsible to our students."

“We informed the Prime Minister about the exams on May 7. He cares about the education and future of the students. He told us not one student should be troubled because of the roadshow. The approximately 10 km roadshow, which was supposed to be held on May 6, will instead be held on May 7. On May 6, the approximately 26 km roadshow will be held. We have kept the shorter roadshow on Sunday as it can be finished early,” BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje told reporters in Bengaluru.

“The roadshow on Saturday will be held between 10 am and 1.30 pm and on Sunday it will be held from 10 am to 11.30 am. We have informed the police to drop the students at their respective centres if they show their hall tickets,” she added.

Earlier, on April 29, Modi had conducted a 5.3-kilometer long roadshow in Bengaluru that went through different areas in the city including Magadi Street, Pleasant Street Intersection and Sumanahalli.

The election schedule for the 224-member Karnataka Legislative Assembly was announced by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on March 29. On May 10, the state will go to the polls, and on May 13, the votes will be counted.

The date for voting in the elections for the 224-member Karnataka Assembly is May 10, and the results will be announced three days later.
