Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flagged off Gujarat's first heritage train, which will connect Kevadia or Ekta Nagar to Ahmedabad. The three-coach train's locomotive has been designed to look like a steam engine but eventually runs on an electric one.

"This is a new addition to the attraction at Ekta Nagar. This train has a reflection of glorious heritage and yet it is most modern, designed with state-of-the-art amenities. The look of the engine is that of a steam engine, however, it will run on electricity," said the Prime Minister during the flagging off ceremony of the train and other projects during his recent visit to the state.

Gujarat's Kevadia is home to the Statue of Unity, Sardar Vallabhai Patel's memorial.
