No sooner did Jayalalithaa biopic featuring Kangana Ranuaut was announced than there was complete buzz all around. The big announcement, which was made on Kangana’s 32nd birthday accelerated when it was reported that the Queen actress was getting paid Rs 24 crore to play former Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalithaa in the biopic titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi, directed by AL Vijay.
“Kangana is being paid to the tune of Rs 24 crore for the bilingual project, which will be made in Hindi and Tamil. The makers are sure that her star power will help reach a pan-India audience. The producers have already signed a contract with her”, a source was quoted as saying to an entertainment portal.
Now, producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri has come to the forefront to clear the air about Kangana Ranaut’s remuneration for Jayalalithaa biopic.
In an interview to Pinkvilla, the producer said, “Kangana deserves every bit of remuneration she is getting, we are very happy to have her in our team, but the details can’t be disclosed it’s a matter between the talent and the producer no one else is authorised to talk about it”.
"Jayalalithaa ji is one of the biggest female success stories of this century. She was a superstar and went on to become an iconic politician,it's a great concept for mainstream film. I am honoured to be a part of this mega project," Kangana said in a statement.
The film will be written by K V Vijayendra Prasad, who has also penned Baahubali and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, and will be produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh under the banners of Vibri & Karma Media and Entertainment.
