While Gully Boy is considered Ranveer Singh’s glory, Zoya Akhtar introduced another spell-binding talent to the industry with her film MC Sher played by Siddhant Chaturvedi. As much as fans loved Ranveer and Alia in Gully Boy, Siddhant earned his own fan base who loved every bit of him in the movie. His character in the film encouraged Murad to achieve his true calling. Now Zoya Akhtar is all set to give MC Sher the limelight that it deserves by making a spin-off film on him. Reports suggest that Siddhant Chaturvedi will play the lead role in the film.
Ever since the release of Gully Boy in February, fans have been asking about how MC Sher rise and what happens to him after his protégé Murad turns into a rap-star. Reports in Mumbai Mirror have stated that producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Zoya Akhtar are planning a spin-off which will focus on their overnight sensation and his charismatic Sher. A source told the publication, “The film is entirely based on Siddhant’s character and traces MC Sher’s journey to becoming a hero. This will also give the makers a chance to delve deeper into the hip-hop culture and you can expect many engaging rap battles.”

Siddhant Chaturvedi is definitely the right choice to take the character forward. The actor has become every girl’s crush after his performance in the film. Talking about how he bagged the role in Zoya Akhtar’s film, Siddhant earlier told that he caught Zoya Akhtar’s eyes in w party. He told that his dancing singing on Govinda’s song wooed her and she called him for an audition for Gully Boy. Siddhant is not just a brilliant actor but he writes as we;; and for his audition, he prepared a rap of his own to charm the makers.
While Siddhant has become a household name now, he hasn’t announced his next film yet. When quizzed on his next step, Siddhant told Mumbai Mirror that while he’d not signed anything officially, he was reading a lot of scripts which had him as the solo lead. “Even Ritesh is developing something for me,” he revealed. Ritesh, in an interview described Siddhant as versatile and said, “He is clear he wants to only play a protagonist and we are developing a script with him as the lead.”
