When the biggest musical event of the year is taking place, how can the music maestro AR Rahman be behind. The Mozart of Madras attended the Grammy 2019 with his daughter Raheema Rahman. The prodigy even shared some inside pictures and videos on his social media handle. The event was hosted by Alicia Keys and many popular celebs including former first lady Michelle Obama graced the event. The 52-year-old music director and composed took to his Instagram to share few inside pictures from Grammy 2019 ceremony.
In one of the pictures, AR Rahman and his daughter Raheema are sharing the frame with Ila Paliwal. He was wearing a black suit while his daughter twinned with him.
Recently, AR Rahman was trolled on the social media for ‘forcing his daughter Khatija to wear a Niqab’. The music composer took to Instagram to share a picture which shows all the other women of his family including his wife and second daughter without a hijab while Khatija poses proudly in a niqab. He wrote ‘#FreedomOfChoice’ to shut down the trolls with grace.
This year, AR Rahman’s Oscar win for Slumdog Millionaire clocked 10 years. To commemorate the occasion, an event was organised at Dharavi in Mumbai which had Anil Kapoor and Gulzar in attendance.
In 2010, AR Rahman won two Grammy awards under the category Best Compilation Soundtrack Album and Best Song Written for Visual Media for the movie Slumdog Millionaire and song Jai Ho composed for the same film. He also won two Academy Awards, one BAFTA and a Golden Globe Award.
