New Delhi: Mohit Suri's Ek Villain is unleashed at box office and has challenged straight Salman Khan's ‘Jai Ho'. The musical thriller after a brilliant second highest opening on Friday with Rs 16.72 cr nett business, showed a rock steady collection of around Rs 15 cr on Saturday taking its two total to around 31 cr.

#EkVillain had a SOLID Sat. Early trends indicate Rs 15 cr [+/-]... Rs 50 cr nett weekend on the cards... FANTABULOUS!

Jai Ho, which is the biggest grosser of the year so far, within two days of its release garnered Rs 33.80 cr despite roping in a huge number of 4500 screens in India.

‘Ek Villain', which stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Reteish Deshmukh in lead roles, released in around 2539 screens which is a much lesser number in comparison to Salman Khan starrer. If we go by this analysis then Ek Villain has clearly defeated ‘Jai Ho' and is going ahead for Rs 50 cr weekend.

Writes Taran Adarsh, “Get ready to rub your eyes in disbelief... #EkVillain [on lesser screens] to challenge #JaiHo for the BIGGEST opener of 2014.”

Not only in domestic but the flick is dominating the international box office too. The flick on Friday has grossed Rs 6 cr at overseas.

“EkVillain Thu + Fri Overseas total: approx $ 1 mn [Rs 6 cr]. VERY GOOD!”, tweets Adarsh.

The biggest contribution comes in from UAE where it has made Rs 3.11 cr.

“EkVillain - UAE: Thu AED 800,000, Fri AED 1,100,000. Total: AED 1,900,000 [Rs 3.11 cr]. FABULOUS!”, writes Adarsh.

Here is what he has to say about USA, Canada and Australia's collection.

“EkVillain - USA & Canada: Fri $ 130,000 [Rs 78.03 lacs]. SUPERB!”

“In Australia too, #EkVillain surprises with A$ 19,592 [Rs 11.08 lacs]. Considering its genre, it's VERY GOOD!”

Not only this, the flick within two days has already crossed the weekend collections of Holiday and Humshakals in UK

“This is SHOCKING! #EkVillain crosses *weekend biz* of #Holiday and #Humshakals in UK in 2 days [Fri+Sat]. Despite half screen count”, confirms Adarsh.
