Kolkata, March 31: Foraying into Bollywood with Sangeeth Sivan's "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2", a sequel to the original, Kristina Akheeva, an Australian model working in India, said Saturday Bollywood is of "international standard" and is becoming popular Down Under.

"Now more than ever I have seen Bollywood in Australia. Most of the younger people know Bollywood and its becoming really popular there.

"It is very professional, every one is extremely down to earth and very international standard so I absolutely loved it," Kritina said at a media conference at the PVR Cinemas, Avani Riverside mall in Howrah district while promoting the film with her co-actors.

YPD2 slated to release June 7, stars Dharmendra with his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol in the lead. Actress Neha Sharma and debutant Akheeva will be the leading ladies of the comedy-drama slated for a June 7 release.

The 26-year-old model of Russian descent divulged that her introduction to Hindi films as a viewer was in 2007 during a trip to India.

"The first film that I saw was in 2007 when I was backpacking around India. So I actually went to the cinema to have a proper Bollywood experience. So I watched the film in Hindi, didn't understand a single thing but loved every moment of it," Kristina said.

"And after that I was modelling in India I started watching a lot of films."

Describing Bollywood movies as "expressive", she waxed eloquent about the gamut of emotions incorporated in a Hindi film.

"Its so expressive and even though you are speaking a foreign language you know what's going on. There's constant action going on. I fell in love with the dancing and everything. There's so much in one film -the action, the romance, the emotion, everything is there," she said.
