New Delhi: The Republic Day holiday has done the trick for the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘BABY' which has comfortably crossed Rs 50 cr mark at Indian box office.

The movie on Monday made a rock-steady collection of Rs 14.90 cr nett to take its four days collection to Rs 50.97 cr nett in India. Tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, “Baby crosses Rs 50 cr mark over 4-day weekend. Collects Rs 14.90 cr on Mon. Total: Rs 50.97 cr. India biz. Word of mouth is super-strong.”

The movie is already the biggest hit of the year and the first one to enter the Rs 50 cr club. The Neeraj Pandey directorial with the positive word of mouth is going to enjoy a good week at box office and definitely will do much better than its companion Dolly Ki Dolly, which despite getting decent reviews couldn't capitalize over the extended weekend.

Dolly Ki Doli starring Sonam Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Rajkumar Rao and Varun Sharma on its fourth day garnered only Rs 4.54 cr which brings its box office total to Rs 15.29 cr nett in India, according to a leading website Bollywood Hungama.

Meanwhile, BABY is performing average at overseas. In USA and Canada, the action thriller has garnered Rs 2.15 cr and 51.67 lacs respectively. Rs 64.54 lacs were recovered from UAE-GCC. In UK and Ireland, the film has made Rs 62.71 lacs while in Australia, the film collected 50.53 lacs.

From New Zealand Rs 11.96 lacs was collected. BABY is banned in Pakistan because they feel it's an Anti-Pakistan flick which shows Muslims in a negative manner. However, producer Bhushan Patel is of the view that the movie isn't against any country but it deals with the ways to counter terrorism.

This step by Pakistan is going to favour movie's collection here in India as any kind of publicity is a good publicity for any flick.
