Entertainment channel Colors has decided to air old episodes of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ (CNWK) on weekends to improve its viewership and compete with rivals. The surprise moves comes few months after the channel parted ways with comedian Kapil Sharma acrimoniously. Now seems that the channel management has accepted their mistake of parting ways with Sharma.
Following the tiff the self-made comedian Kapil Sharma and his on screen loved ‘family’ moved to Sony TV with a new show and concept to launch ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. The show has helped Sony to gain popularity among the viewers.
It might be recalled that when Sony TV launched TKSS, colours has decided to air the Bollywood blockbuster of the time Bajirao Mastani in the same time slot. The enmity was so high that Colours has run the first one hour of the movie without a single break, thus compromising on the business front as well.
According to the BARC’s report of the top television channels, Star Plus is ahead of Colors channel by taking top position while Colors has come to on No.2. Moreover, not even a single show of Colors had topped the list of best shows in the past few weeks.
The BARC report further adds that Zee TV’s KumKum Bhagya is on No.1, Brahmarakshas: Jaag Utha Shaitan at No 2, while Kapil Sharma’s “The Kapil Sharma Show” is at No.3, followed by Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on No.4.
So, in order to revive the TRPs of their channel, Colors management has decided to air the old episodes of Comedy Nights With Kapil on weekends.
Now the competition will happen between Kapil Sharma VS Kapil Sharma on the prime time.
