Late actress Sridevi will be honoured at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival with an Icon Award. It is going to be a red-letter day for the Hindi film industry at the 71st Cannes Film Festival this year. The TITAN Reginald F. Lewis Film Awards to be held at Cannes on May 16, will celebrate women of the film industry all over the world and also salute the multicultural impact on the Film Industry. From India, late actress Sridevi will be honoured with the TITAN RFL Icon Award.

The English Vinglish actress will be honoured and remembered with a special tribute consisting of reminiscences, memories, anecdotes, and visual footage of the actress best performances.

Sridevi’s husband filmmaker Boney Kapoor turned emotional after hearing this. He said, ‘’I’m happy that people all over the world are recognising her work and contribution to cinema. Even though the overwhelming emptiness of losing her remains, it’s somewhat comforting to know that she lives on through her work.”

A report also stated that Sridevi’s daughters Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor will also be attending the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, for their mom’s special tribute.

Earlier, Sridevi was also awarded with the Best Actress Award at the National Film Awards for her film MOM.

Veteran actress and India's female superstar Sridevi, 54, passed away on February 25, due to drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room in Dubai, where she was present to attend a family wedding.
