Akshay Kumar, who wrapped up shooting for R. Balki’s Padman, finally finished shooting for Reema Kagtri’s Gold. The actor announced the conclusion of shooting on his Instagram account with a video. On Sunday, he shared a video of himself jumping in joy and captioned: “A good beginning makes a good ending... True story. It's a wrap for 'Gold', an incredible journey with a great team. See you at the movies."
In the video, Akshay Kumar is seen jumping over a chair and doing a somersault on a beach. It seems like the actor is super-excited to have finally concluded the shooting for his upcoming film Gold.
Gold is a biopic based on the life of hockey player Balbir Singh Sr., who was on the team that won the first Olympic medal for India as a free nation in 1948. Apart from Akshay Kumar, Kunal Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Nikita Dutta and Raveena Tandon will be seen in the film. It has been produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under excel entertainment banner.
Earlier, in September, Akshay Kumar shared another poster of the film on social media. In the poster, Akshay is looking as gleaming as an Olympic Gold medal. Mouni Roy, who is also the part of the team, hasn’t revealed her look yet.
Through every passing year, I understood life a bit better. Through every film of mine, I learned something new. They say every cloud has a silver lining, but the way I got love from my well wishers, my dreams met their destination and my clouds got a lining of Gold. As my age #TurnsGold, here's presenting the poster of Gold, a film extremely close to my heart.
The film is slated to release on Independence Day in 2018. On Republic Day next year, Akshay Kumar’s Padman will be hitting the screens. It seems like the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha actor has blocked both the dates for his films.
