After Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon, another name has been added to the list who are confirmed to receive Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year for their contribution towards Indian cinema. Aditi Rao Hydari will also be conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for the Best Leading Lady (Critics Award) for her stellar performance in Bhoomi.
Aditi Rao Hydari received much adulation for her performance in Omung Kumar’s Bhoomi, in which she played a gangrape victim. Her character resonated well among both critics and audience. After Bhoomi, she featured for a short yet effective role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, in which she essayed the role of Alauddin Khilji’s wife. Though her role was short on screen, but the impact she left behind was praiseworthy.
