2.0: Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer in cinema halls today

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited high budget film 2.0 releases today. 2.0 is one of the most expensive films as it is made with a budget of Rs 543 crore. The makers have been creating about the film by sharing looks of stars. Both the leading stars Akshay and Rajinikanth have been garnering praises for their looks, ever since the trailer of the film released.

In the film, Akshay will be featuring for the first time opposite south superstar Rajnikanth in fantasy and mystery-based film. Akshay is playing an antagonist character in 2.0. Recently, Akshay announced about the advance ticket booking of the film. 

According to entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala, more than one million tickets of 2.0 got sold on BookMyShow in advance. He stated that the number is higher than that of  Baahubali: The Beginning and Hollywood superhero flick Avengers: Infinity War.

The film is a sequel of Enthirana released in 2010 and written and directed by S Shankar. It featured Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Akshay is working with Shankar for the first time. "We used to speak in Marathi on the sets and we used to enjoy that. Shankar is a brilliant director to work with and he is a very humble man. It was so interesting to see how he would add a quirk of entertainment in any or every dialogue of our daily conversation."

"He is a very professional person. He narrated me the whole story, the screenplay and I knew each character of the film from the beginning. I was impressed by the concept and wondered why nobody has explored the subject so far," said Akshay.
