Nicole - Zen

Nicole was overjoyed when Zen agreed to marry her, she had been dreaming this all her childhood. Childhood friends, Nicole and Zen grew up together in the same Indian (Goa) neighbourhood (until Nicole was 12) and that's why even their parents didn't disagree.

Soon after she turned 12, Nicole and her parents shifted to New York (Nicole's mother's birthplace). Nicole was born in NY, so she held a US citizenship and her father being an Indian got his family to Goa. Nicole kept in touch with Zen through mails, love blossomed and when Nicole turned 27, she decided to marry Zen.

Zen had never revealed to her about his sexuality and decided to hide it from her until their marriage. After their marriage, Zen too moved to US, where couple spent over 7 months, until police found her body in her apartment.

Prima facie it was believed to be a burglary when wrong, but on investigation police found an email Nicole had sent to her friend an hour before her murder. It read, "My husband Zen is gay, I found out! He's furious and wants to separate - Shall I tell our families?"

Late Zen, confessed to have killed Nicole in a fit of rage, when she caught him making love to his partner in their apartment. He feared she would tell it to the world, so he killed her to hide his sexuality.

Remember, Bollywood movie 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.' - in a story within, Sandhya Mridula finds out about her husband Vikram Chatwal's bisexual personality and later the couple separate.

Why is that individuals are afraid to share their true sexuality to their loved ones? During one of the episodes on Aamir Khan's famous TV show Satyamev Jayate, a woman openly shared how she was trapped in a marriage, only to realise later that she herself was lesbian. But her husband (unlike all the partners in the above incidents) helped her to come out open with her sexuality to the world and today they are good friends (she divorced him and found love in her lesbian partner.)

Was it that the victims in all the above marriages couldn't accept their husband's sexuality? The answer is an absolute 'NO'; it was their partners who didn't dare to come out open about themselves and instead pushed them (victims) to face dire consequences of their inabilities.
