Authorities in Srinagar have set-up a central control room to monitor developments in the wake of missile strikes by India on nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). "In view of the prevailing situation, a Joint Control Room is established at the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC), Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar under the overall supervision of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Srinagar," the local district magistrate said in an order.

The Indian Army is closely monitoring the ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army. The Indian Army chief is constantly in touch with local formations on the Pakistan Army's actions there. Formations have operational freedom to give an appropriate reply to the Pakistan Army’s use of artillery guns to target Indian civilians along the Line of Control. NSA briefed his counterparts on actions taken and the method of execution, which was measured, non-escalatory, and restrained. He emphasised that India had no intent to escalate but was well prepared to retaliate resolutely should Pakistan decide to escalate. NSA will be in touch with its counterparts in the days ahead.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy convened an emergency meeting at the Hyderabad Police Command Control Room. Senior police officers, IAS officials and advisors attended the meeting. The discussion emphasised full cooperation with the central government and central security forces, along with strengthening security arrangements within the state.

China finds India’s military operation early this morning regrettable. We are concerned about the ongoing situation. India and Pakistan are and will always be each other’s neighbors, Chinese foreign ministry said.

"They’re both China’s neighbors as well. China opposes all forms of terrorism. We urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint and refrain from taking actions that may further complicate the situation," it said.

We are deeply concerned that this incident could incite retaliation and escalate to a full-scale military conflict. To ensure peace in South Asia, we strongly call for both India and Pakistan to exercise restrain and stabilise the situation through dialogue, the Japanese foreign ministry said in a statement.

According to sources, during the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi briefed his colleagues about the operation carried out against Pakistan. The Indian Army executed the operation flawlessly, as per the planned strategy.

10 members of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar's family have been killed in Indian Armed Forces' strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan and PoK under 'Operation Sindoor', media reports have claimed.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said, "No military installation was targeted, and till now there are no reports of civilian casualties in Pakistan."

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, while briefing the media, presented video evidence of the destroyed terror camps, including footage from Muridke — the location where individuals involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, such as Ajmal Kasab and David Headley, were trained.

The Army and Indian Air Force revealed that a total of 21 terror camps were destroyed at 9 locations in Pakistan and PoK near the LoC.

Chief Minister Omar chaired an emergency meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of several districts in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was conducted via video conferencing and included officials from Kathua, Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipore.

Earlier, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that he had reviewed the situation in the border districts and is keeping a close watch on developments. He assured that the government is fully prepared to handle any eventuality that may arise.

A red alert has been declared across Uttar Pradesh following 'Operation Sindoor': DGP Prashant Kumar said on Wednesday.

As part of the Ministry of Home Affairs' order of nationwide civil defence security drills on Wednesday, a madrassa in Lucknow conducted the practices with students briefed about safety measures and protocols to follow in a war-like situation.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant General Manoj Sinha has said people from vulnerable areas near the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) are being shifted to safer areas as Pakistan continues to violate ceasefire by resorting to artillery firing and shelling in parts of the Union territory.

"I've also directed the DCs for shifting of villagers from vulnerable areas to safer locations and ensuring boarding, lodging, food, medicare and transportation. We will ensure safety of every citizen. Jai Hind," he wrote in a post on X.

Rajesh Narwal, father of Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, said, “When this tragedy occurred, I had said that I have full faith in the Government of India and that it is doing its job. Today, the government has shown that it indeed has acted decisively. Those who lost their sons can never get them back, but what I had said at that time was that the response should be such that no one dares to commit such cowardly and shameful acts in the future.

"The step taken by the Government of India is absolutely right. The strike on their nine locations will echo in their minds, and they will not even think of attempting anything like this again,” he added.

A meeting of the Union Cabinet will be held at 11 am today, just an hour after the Army briefs media on 'Operation Sindoor' - the Indian Armed Forces's strikes at terror launch pads in Pakistan's Punjab and PoK.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi coined the name 'Operation Sindoor' of the military strikes against terror launch pads in Pakistan and PoK in honour of those women whose husbands were killed in Pahalgam on April 22, sources said.

Earlier this afternoon, Secretary Marco Rubio spoke to the national security advisors from India and Pakistan. He urged both to keep lines of communication open and avoid escalation, the US Department of State has said.

After India destroyed nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport in Mohali has also been placed on high alert and all airlines have cancelled their flights until 12 noon.

According to the latest information, the majority of airports in northern India have been placed on high alert.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to all three chiefs after 'Operation Sindoor' was conducted late at night and discussed the situation, sources said after India struck 9 terror camps located in Pakistan and in PoK in the wee hours of Wednesday.

In view of the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Pathankot district administration has been placed on high alert. All schools in the district will remain closed for the next 72 hours, as per orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner.

All airbases in Haryana and Punjab have also been placed on high alert. High alert has been declared in all border districts of Punjab adjoining the Pakistan border.

In the wake of heavy firing and shelling from Pakistan along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir after India's military strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and in PoK, the Poonch administration has ordered closure of all schools in the district on Wednesday.

The of Office of the Chief Education Officer issued a directive stating, "All government and private schools in District Poonch shall remain closed today, 7th May 2025".

Pakistan's ISPR has resorted to indulging in spreading propaganda and fake news after Indian Armed Forces carried out targeted strikes against terror camps in Pakistan's Punjab province and PoK on Wednesday.

These fake claims include:

These claims have been categorically debunked and flagged as fake news.

According to high-level sources, Indian military destroyed several terrorist camps of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed at nine locations in Pakistan and PoK.

These are located in: Bahawalpur, Muridke, Gulpur, Sawai (LeT), Bilal camp, Kotli (LeT), Barnala camp, Sarjal camp and Mehmoona camp.

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Indian Army's precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, SpiceJet Airlines issued a flight advisory on Wednesday for airports in northern India.

In a post on social media platform X, the airline announced that airports in Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar and Amritsar would remain closed until further notice. It also noted that departures, arrivals and connecting flights would be affected as a result.

Of the nine targets successfully hit by the Indian forces, four are in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The targets in Pakistan include Bahawalpur, Muridke and Sialkot. Special precision munitions were used to target the terror camps. The three services jointly carried out the operation and mobilisation of assets and troops, ANI quotes citing sources.
