Cyclone Nisarga approaches Mumbai, IMD issues red alert

The Indian Met Department (IMD) has issued a storm surge warning for Mumbai and low-lying areas of Thane and Raigad districts. The warning means an astronomical tide of 1 to 2 metre in height is likely to inundate low lying areas of Thane and Mumbai.
