Malvani hooch tragedy could have been averted in 2009

Mumbai: A Mumbai-based NGO, Hind Brigade, had in 2009 filed a complaint about widespread supply of spurious liquor in the city. It had indicated that the police was provided with all information regarding the same. The NGO had demanded action against illegal distillers and suppliers of liquor that contained harmful chemicals.
