Uttar Pradesh: Traffic Police announces diversions on Noida Expressway for 45 days | CHECK alternate routes

Noida Expressway traffic diversion: Traffic from Greater Noida to Noida and Delhi will be diverted through Sector 132 service road via the Hazipur underpass and Sector 44 roundabout to the Mahamaya flyover.

Noida expressway traffic diversion: The Noida Traffic Police issued an advisory restricting vehicle movement on a section of the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The restrictions and diversions will be in place for the upcoming 45 days to facilitate the construction of an underpass. The upcoming underpass near the Mahamaya flyover will be connecting Sectors 96 and 126 on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

As per the advisory issued by the Noida traffic department on Tuesday (April 25), all types of vehicles will be diverted through the adjoining service lanes to avoid choke points on the expressway.

Check routes diversion:

Traffic from Greater Noida to Noida and Delhi will be diverted through Sector 132 service road via the Hazipur underpass and Sector 44 roundabout to the Mahamaya flyover. Traffic opposite the carriageway (from Noida and Delhi to Greater Noida) will be diverted to Sector 128 service road via the Hazipur underpass from the Mahamaya flyover.

According to officials, it will take at least 45 days to complete the work of the 715-metre-long underpass, which is being constructed using box-pushing technology. Upon completion, the underpass is expected to connect several sectors in Noida with Delhi including 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 96, 97, 98, 99 as well as 124, 125, 126 and 127. It will also ease the traffic movement on many roads and the expressway.

DCP of Noida Traffic Police Anil Kumar Yadav said the diversions will be in place till the underpass work gets completed. A helpline number (9971009001) has also been issued by the traffic officials for contacting them in case of emergencies.

Traffic Diversions on MP-2 Elevated Road:

Meanwhile, the police also announced diversions on the MP-2 elevated road for installing polls for lights. The restrictions will be enforced from 11:00 pm to 5 am on April 26, 30, May 3 and May 7. The traffic going from Sector 60 towards Sector 18 can reach the destination through the road made under the elevated road from Sector 60.

Vehicles Sector 31.25 Chowk to Sector 18, Sector 31. 25 from Chowk can through the road made under the elevated road to reach the destination. The traffic going from Sector 18 towards Sector 60 will be able to go towards the destination via Cambridge Tiraha Sector 27 under the elevated road.

The traffic going from NTPC towards Sector 60 will be able to go towards the destination by passing through Gijaud Chowk in front of NTPC and under the elevated road. The police officials urged the public to take note of the advisory and follow the directions to avoid inconvenience.

Noida Police to commence 15-day campaign for smooth traffic:

The Noida Traffic Police will today (April 28) start  a special 15-day campaign aimed at making vehicular movement smooth and easy near markets and in residential sectors, officials said on Thursday. The campaign "Discipline on the road" will particularly focus on checking wrong-side driving, illegal parking of vehicles on roads, etc, a police spokesperson said.

Violators would be penalised and the fine would be increased on repeat offence, the official said, adding that vehicles flouting the normal could also get seized or towed away. The campaign has been announced on directions of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, the spokesperson said.

"Unauthorised parking of buses engaged by schools and private firms, trucks and cars, etc on various main roads, main markets and roads located inside the sector as well as wrong-side driving are major problems in smooth operation of traffic in Gautam Buddh Nagar," the police spokesperson said. 

"In view of all this, as per the instructions of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, a 15-day special campaign 'Discipline on the Road-1' will be launched from April 28 with the aim of making the traffic system of Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar smooth and smooth," the official said.

During this campaign, effective enforcement action will be ensured especially in cases of wrong side driving, no-parking, illegal parking, according to the police. Erring vehicles would be towed away with the help of crane, the police said, adding that the divisional transport department and the roadways department have also been roped in for effective implementation of the plan.

"With the aim of making the campaign successful and more effective, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav held a meeting with assistant commissioners of police, all traffic inspectors and traffic sub-inspectors who were thoroughly briefed about the initiative," the spokesperson said.
