After learning of her illicit relationship, the woman's in-laws sent her back to her parents' house on Thursday. As per family sources, she had entered into a scuffle with her father and was not ready to end her extramarital affair.
The woman had come out of her college after appearing for an exam when the incident took place, ACP, Ballabgarh, Jaiveer Singh Rathi, said.
"Information was received in police station Alipur from Sub-Inspector Jaiveer, posted at Shahbad Dairy of the Outer North District, that while crossing the Sai Mandir on the GTK Road, he spotted a woman lying on the road, shifted her into his private car and straight away rushed to a nearby hospital," DCP, Outer North, Gaurav Sharma said.
The accused had allegedly barged into the victim's house around 8 am, shot her from a close range without provocation and then escaped, a senior officer said.
A jilted youth shot dead a girl using a country-made pistol and then killed himself with the same firearm in Jhusi area on Saturday. Both died on the spot.
A 45-year-old woman was shot dead by unidentified assailants while she was asleep at her house in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, police said on Sunday. Savita Rajbhar was sleeping beside her husband on the terrace of her house at Tahirpur village on Saturday night when unidentified assailants sprayed bullets on her, an officer said.
