Maharashtra brings new bill to crack down on dance bars exploiting permit rules loophole | DETAILS
Maharashtra | Jul 07, 2026, 05:16 PM ISTUnder the proposed bill, licences for orchestras and live music performances in hotels, bars and restaurants will no longer be issued under the Maharashtra Police Act. Instead, they will be granted under the Maharashtra Dance Bar Act, 2026, which bars the police from issuing permits.
