The 2018 scandal was once again in spotlight after Bancroft recently stated that whether the Australian bowlers knew of the plan to use a sandpaper on the ball during the Cape Town Test.
Bancroft, now 28, opened up on the infamous sandpapergate, saying it is "self-explanatory" when asked if Australian bowlers were aware of the plan.
Australian batsman Cameron Bancroft was cut out of Australia's squad for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand at home.
Bancroft was banned last year in March for his role in the ball-tampering incident along with former skipper Steve Smith and fellow opener David Warner in the Cape Town Test against South Africa.
Uncapped Michael Neser was the surprise selection in the squad that is aiming to retain the urn and win in England for the first time since 2001.
Bancroft moved from his overnight 73 to bring up his 12th first-class century.
Controversies are part of the game but this year they rose on another level.
The interviews have taken the sheen off the Boxing Day Test between India and Australia which ended with the host losing by 137 runs.
Bancroft was immediately included in the 13-man squad for the match with undefeated Hobart.
Riding on Cummins' four for 10 figures, Australia reduced India to 54 for five in the second innings of the ongoing third Test but still trail the visitors by 346 runs.
Jones said if the idea behind the interviews was to get sympathy, the plan has backfired for the duo.
Roberts said they are now looking forward instead of dwelling on past.
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said he does not believe the fresh controversy on the ball-tampering scandal will have an impact on the national team.
Roberts said the timing of the interviews wasn't ideal, given that they have overshadowed the crucial third Test against India.
Darren Lehmann also said that Cameron Bancroft should have approached the support staff when he was asked to tamper the ball.
"I guess you hope that fitting in earns you respect and with that, I guess there came a really big cost for the mistake," said Bancroft.
Cameron Bancroft wrote a letter to himself and spoke of the hard times after he was suspended for nine months by Cricket Australia for his involvement in the ball-tampering row.
Cricket Australia met on Monday to take a decision on the banned trio of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft.
Cricket Australia handed one-year bans to Steve Smith and David Warner for their involvement in the ball-tampering scandal while Cameron Bancroft was given a nine-month suspension.
