Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to heap praises on England, who beat India to clinch the three-match ODI series 2-1.  The hosts made a remarkable turnaround in the series after trailing 1-0, making it a one-sided affair in the two ODIs they won at Lord's and Headingley.

The Master Blaster praised captain Eoin Morgan and Joe Root's match-winning partnership which led the Three Lions to an eight-wicket win in the series decider at Leeds. Tendulkar also mentions that Rashid's 3/49 was key in the match.

'Congratulations, @englandcricket on winning the match and the series. You played better cricket in the last two games and deserved to win. @AdilRashid03’s 3 crucial wickets were the key. Also, solid stuff from @root66 and @Eoin16. Match winning partnership. #ENGvsIND'

After containing India to 256-8, England's Joe Root and captain Eoin Morgan combined for an unbeaten 186 runs to win with 33 balls to spare and clinch the three-match series 2-1.

They easily handled the threat of India wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, who combined for 20 overs, conceded 96 overs, and no wickets. Chahal would have had Root stumped on 69 but he committed a front-foot no ball.

After winning nine successive ODI series, India lost one for the first time in two and a half years.

Despite Root and Morgan guiding England home, spinner Adil Rashid received man of the match for three wickets, including a stunning dismissal of India captain and top-scorer Virat Kohli.

Kohli backed up to a delivery that turned from leg stump and knocked over his off stump. Surprised, Kohli was out for 71 off 72 balls, including eight boundaries.
