Khanna's personal life has been a turbulent one. After he became an Osho disciple for five years he was unable to pay enough time to his family. Married to Geetanjali with two sons, Akshaye and Rahul, Vinod left his family and started spending time cleaning dishes and gardening. His absence from his house led to a divorce between him and Geetanjali.
In 1990, Khanna re-married. He tied the knot with Kavita and has fathered two daughters, Sakshi and Shraddha.
