Speaking to media, Karuna Shukla said: "I have been feeling that the party does not think I will be useful any more. I served the organisation for 32 years. For the last several years, the party has not been taking any work from me. I have been sidelined."
Asked why she has been sidelined, Karuna Shukla said: "It's the chief minister (Raman Singh) who can reply. Though the party has claimed it has given 33 per cent posts to women, not a single woman has been appointed BJP general secretary."
