Two Bihar JD-U woman MLAs in face-off over PA's murder

Patna, May 9: Two woman JD-U MLAs in Bihar, Bima Bharti and Lacy Singh, have levelled charges and counter-charges in connection with the abduction and murder of the former's PA Santosh Mandal on April 23.

Bima has alleged that Lacy wanted to make one of her supporters a block chief in her constituency, which she and her PA Mandal resisted.

On the other hand, Avadhesh Mandal suspected his wife Bima of having an affair with her PA. He had beaten her up once, and married another woman named Gudia.

Santosh Mandal was abducted on April 23 while he was going from Rupauli to his home in Lalganj. Police had detained Avadhesh Mandal and two others for interrogation. One of the accusd Biren Mandal confessed that Santosh Mandal was beheaded on April 23 night itself in Kursela Diyara.

A skeleton was found on Wednesday evening in Kadhagola Ganga Diyara, which is believed to be of Sanosh Mandal. This is yet to be confirmed by forensic experts.

25-yer-old Santosh Mandal's mother Rekha Devi is the pradhan of Lalganj panchayat.

Avadhesh Mandal has been a notorious gangster during the Nineties. Presently, he is the block chief of Bhawanipur, and has more than two dozen criminal cases against him.

Lacy Singh is the widow of dreaded gangster Butan Singh.
