Lucknow: Amid allegations and counter claims, the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP government, which rode to power in 2012 Uttar Pradesh assembly election replacing BSP, will complete three years in the office tomorrow.

While the ruling SP claimed that the last three years were glorious and historical, the opposition slammed it alleging that instead of heading towards development, the state went into the direction of destruction and the government was not even worthy of one point.

SP's state spokesman and cabinet minister Rajendra Chaudhary claimed that during SP's rule the state has marched ahead on the path of development and the party fulfilled promises made in its election manifesto.

He said that CM Akhilesh launched schemes for all sections of the society and the future generation would remember him for the good results borne out of them.  Chaudhary said that whether it is farmers, poor or minorities, the government worked for all sections of the society.

He said the CM made a revolutionary initiative like Lucknow metro, police reform, basic structure development, infrastructure facilities, investment and education sector, which would benefit the entire state.

The claims made by the ruling SP were slammed by the opposition parties.

BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said the challenges which government had when it assumed the office exist even today.

He alleged that law and order was a big challenge at the time when SP came to power and it still exists as people, specially women were feeling insecure.

“In the last three years, the challenges have instead increased manifold,” he said.

Pathak said there were several words of warnings from SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for his own party's government, but it seemed that his people ignored them.

“Mulayam had been saying that ministers were more interested in miniting money and were weakening the government, but the party and the government followed the old path,” he alleged
