"The government's plan was only to introduce the Telangana Bill, but our party pressed that the bill be passed, come what may".

Sushma Swaraj clarified that Advaniji never opposed the Telangana Bill, but he was sad over what was happening in Parliament.

"If the government had done justice to Seemandhra, today's situation would not have arisen. I am here to criticise the manner in which the Telangana Bill was passed."

"We at least have the satisfaction that we were there to support the Telangana Bill, for which we were demanding for the last 10 years. Our BJP National Council had also passed the resolution on Telangana, and we had promised to create a new Telangana state within 100 days of coming to power".
