New Delhi: Bal Thackeray was one of those controversial politicians of India who was blamed for fanning communal and regional chauvinism in Maharashtra. But he was always a force to reckon with in Maharashtra politics.

Bal Thackeray was cremated with full state honours at Shivajee park, the same venue from where he had launched his political formation, Shiv Sena.
