Sonipat: Former Union Minister and Congress leader Kumari Selja today claimed that police were directly involved in the alleged murder of 15-year-old Dalit boy Govind in Haryana's Gohana earlier this week.

Selja made these remarks when she visited the village to meet the family of the deceased boy and demanded a CBI inquiry in the case even as an SIT probe has been ordered.

She also asked the government to make public the names of the police personnel booked in the case.

Two assistant sub-inspectors have been booked on murder charges and also under sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

She criticised chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar for his remarks that Govind committed suicide without "understanding the issue".

Selja claimed that she has seen the video recorded by the family members when the body was kept inside a room and said "it becomes clear that he was murdered".

She said that the deceased boy was Chief Minister's nephew as his mother belonged to the village Baniyani which is also Khattar's village.

If the CM cannot deliver justice to "his sister and nephew" how can he do good for the state, she asked.

"BJP government is not a raj, it's jungle raj," she added. The teenage Dalit boy, who was charged with theft of a pigeon, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Haryana's Gohana town on October 22.
