New Delhi:  Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday attacked Sajad Gani Lone after the separatist-turned-minister in PDP-BJP government stated that he was close to BJP since the times of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Following the Peoples' Conference leader's interview to a local daily in which he supported the presence of RSS in Kashmir, Omar attacked the Minister for Science & Technology and Animal Husbandry in PDP-BJP government, over his portfolio.

“And for this all Sajaad got was a few sheep & goats to look after! I'm sure the RSS will help next time around,” Omar wrote on twitter on Friday.

Lone hit back at the former chief minister saying “@abdullah_omar oh I forgot I have renewable energy too which ur (your) Dad (Farooq Abdullah) had in the UPA regime,” Lone wrote in his reply to Omar on Twitter.

The duo had launched scathing attacks at each other in the run up to last year's assembly elections following Lone's meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the interview, Lone had said, “RSS was here much before. They have every right to come here if people accept them. What is the problem? It takes ages to make inroads.

It's all propaganda. “I liked BJP since Vajpayee's era. I was close to that setup. They really took care of me, especially regarding my security. I played a very big role behind the scenes...I had the time to contribute and make way for dialogue process. Because of all this I was labeled as Indian here,” Lone was quoted as saying in the interview.
