Naidu meets JD(U) President
New Delhi: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu today met JD (U) president Sharad Yadav amid plans to hold a national meeting of non-Congress and non-BJP parties in October ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections.
JD (U), which was part of the NDA, had walked out of the BJP on June 16 snapping its 17-year old ties with the party in protest against the elevation of Narendra Modi as that party's campaign committee chief.
The chasm between the two parties is all the more widened after Modi was declared its Prime Ministerial candidate.
While a section in JDU is in favour of close ties with Congress, party president Sharad Yadav has been maintaining that the party has always been fighting against the ruling party of India.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also been talking about the need for regional forces to come together on common issues.
