Bhopal: Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's magic has faded and his development agenda stands exposed with AAP's landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly polls.

“Modi ka mayajaal toot gaya (Modi's magic has ended).  His much hyped development agenda stands exposed,” Scindia told reporters here when asked about the Delhi elections in which the Aam Aadmi Party yesterday bagged 67 of the 70 seats.  The BJP won only three seats while Congress drew a blank.

On Congress's humiliating defeat in the elections, he said it was a matter of concern and stressed that the party has to reach out to the masses.

The party has to do an introspection of its defeat, the former Union minister said.

When asked about the political crisis in Bihar following internal feud in the JD(U), Scindia said that democratic values and process should be upheld and the state should have a leader who commands majority.

Asked if Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was playing in the hands of BJP, he said it might be possible.  On talks that Madhya Pradesh Congress unit chief Arun Yadav might be replaced in the wake of the party's debacle in the recent civic polls, he said Yadav was doing a good job.  The party high command will evaluate the works of the state chief, he added.

When asked about Congress leaders having skipped campaigning during the elections to local bodies, Scindia said that he had campaigned in Guna and Chambal regions and the party did well in these places.

Scindia arrived here to pay a visit to Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Satyadev Katare who was not well. He also visited state Home Minister Babulal Gaur's residence to congratulate him on the recent wedding of his grandson.

He later left for his parliamentary constituency Guna.
