Replying to a query, Naidu said the Congress ruled and ruined the country and that is why people have “neglected” them in the Lok Sabha elections.

“They (Congress) have been misusing power and authority from time to time. They ruled and ruined the country. People have given a clear mandate to us. I hope, they will realize it, behave in a responsible manner,” he said.

He said BJP, which had often accused UPA government of giving step-motherly treatment to states ruled by it, will not discriminate against states and would keep intact the true federal spirit of the Indian Constitution.

“As far as development is concerned, we do not discriminate on the basis of party ideologies of state governments.
