New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh today categorically denied any possibility of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje resigning from their respective posts over Lalit Modi row.

“No no, ministers don't resign on this. This is NDA, not UPA,” Home Minister Rajnath Singh told reporters.

Home Minister's statement comes in the wake of  demands made by Congress and other opposition parties for immediate resignation of Sushma and Raje as they are accused of helping Lalit Modi, an absconder.

Earlier, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that the central government will ‘play by the rule book' in the Lalit Modi controversy.

"The government will play by the rule book and we will make sure that the absolute standards of probity are maintained," Jaitley told PTI in an interview here.

Asked whether the controversy was creating an impression that some leaders of the ruling party and the government were siding with corrupt people, Jaitley said, "There is no question at all."
