Jharkhand (Lohardaga): The Congress yesterday accused the Jharkhand government of recommending to the Centre to declare the state as drought-hit without carrying out any survey.

"The government has neither carried out any survey nor sent a report to the Centre till now on drought," AICC spokesman Ajoy Kumar told reporters here.

He alleged that the Raghubar Das government recommended the Centre to declare the state as drought-hit to "mislead" the people as "the state government has failed on all fronts".

"Though it has been unable to utilise funds the government is engaged in preparing a supplementary budget with the sole intention to loot the exchequer by the end of the financial year," Kumar alleged.

Kumar was here to canvass for PCC president Sukhdeo Bhagat for the December 14 bypoll for the Lohardaga (ST) constituency.

PCC General Secretary Alok Dubey, who is also here for campaigning, said, "The law and order in the state has deteriorated."
