India TV- C Voter Opinion poll: Modi to get two-thirds majority in Gujarat

New Delhi, Dec 4: An opinion poll conducted by India TV in association with C Voter has predicted a comfortable victory for Narendra Modi led BJP in Gujarat assembly polls. Modi is expected to get people's mandate for third time in a row. The opinion poll indicates a clean sweep for Modi once again. The opinion poll predicts a two-thirds majority for Modi in Gujarat this time.Out of a total of 182 seats, BJP is expected to register victory in 121 assembly constituencies. The opinion pol indicates a gain of 4 seats for BJP compared to last time. In 2007 assembly elections, BJP had won 117 seats.The main opposition party, Congress, is expected to emerge victorious in 54 seats. It means Congress will lose 5 seats compared to last time. In the outgoing assembly, Congress has 59 seats. Others are expected to get 7 seats. It means others will gain one more seat compared to last time.In terms of vote percentage, BJP is expected to get 48 percent of total votes, Congress 38 percent and others 14 percent.The opinion poll has also come up with region specific projections. Gujarat has been divided into four regions – North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Central Gujarat and Saurashtra.Let's have a look at opinion poll projections for different regions in Gujarat:1. North Gujarat:North Gujarat has a total of 32 seats. Out of these 32 seats, BJP is expected to get 24 seats, Congress 7 and others 1 seat. In terms of gains and losses, it's a case of no gain-no loss for BJP while Congress is in danger of losing seat. Others are expected to gain 1 seat.According to this opinion poll, BJP will get a total of 46 percent votes, Congress 41 percent and others 13 percent.2. South GujaratSouth Gujarat has a total of 33 seats. BJP is expected to sweep North Gujarat in upcoming assembly elections. BJP looks all set to win 26 seats in North Gujarat this time. It's a gain of 6 seats, compared to 26 seats that the party won last time. Congress, on the other hand, is expected to suffer major losses in this region. Compared to 11 seats that the party won last time, they are expected to win only 6 seats this time and it'll be a loss of 5 seats for the party. Others are expected to win 1 seat in this region and that will be a loss of 1 seat for them.In terms of vote percentage, BJP is expected to get 51 percent of votes from the region, BJP 36 percent and others 13 percent.3.Central Gujarat:Out of a total of 63 seats in the region, BJP is expected to get 39 seats. Congress is supposed to get 23 seats while others will get 1 seat. Like South Gujarat, BJP looks all set to pocket major gains in the region while Congress is supposed to suffer major losses. The opinion poll predicts a gain of 7 seats for the BJP and a loss of 6 seats for the Congress. Others are also expected to lose 1 seat.In terms of vote percentage, BJP is expected to get 49 percent of votes, Congress 38 percent while others will get 13 percent.4. Saurashtra:Saurashtra has a total of 54 seats. This is one region where BJP appears to be losing ground. BJP is expected to win 32 seats only and that will be a loss of 9 seats for the party. On the other hand, Congress looks to be doing well in this region and they are improvising on their numbers. Congress is expected to get 18 seats from the region and it will be a gain of 7 seats for the party.
