Indian public in recent times, tired of rampant nepotism in politics, , have shown an inclination for trusting and handing over the reins of power to those politicians who said that since they don't have a family, there is no danger of sinking in the quagmire of nepotism. Explaining the rationale behind his disinclination for marriage, Rahul said that if he gets married and has children, then he will become a status quoist and will be concerned about bequeathing his position to his children. He became the PM for the first time in 1996 but the govt lasted for 13 days only. He became PM once gain in 1998 and this time the govt lasted for 13 months. In 1999, He took the oath of office for third time and ruled till 2004.2. Narendra Modi:Narendra Modi has been BJP's most successful Chief Minister of BJP. He has led the party to victory for three consecutive terms in assembly elections in Gujarat. He loses no chance of ridiculing the dynastic politics of Congress and like Vajpayee, keeps reminding his electorate that since he has no family, there is no question of nepotism in his government.3. Mayawati:Mayawati can easily be termed as ‘the dalit queen' of Indian politics. She, single handedly, catapulted her party BSP into power with deft strategic moves and relentless struggle. She has been the Chief Minister of India's largest state UP for four terms. She has not married till date.4. Mamata Banerjee:If there is one lady who has achieved what was supposed to be unthinkable in Indian politics then it's one and only Mamata Banerjee, the CM of West Bengal. Refusing to accept defeat after numerous failures in her quest to dethrone left front rule in West Bengal , Mamata rose like a phoenix and finally succeeded in unseating the Left Front govt. She is also unmarried and claimed in her public meetings that she has dedicated her entire life to the people of West Bengal and has no time for thinking about herself. People of West Bengal trusted her, recognized her sacrifice and handed over the reins of power to this indefatigable lady.5. JayalalithaaThis actor-turned politician is still a spinster and has been the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for four times. Her single status comes in very handy for her whenever she tries to underline the dynastic politics of DMK dominated by Karunanidhi's family members.6. Naveen PatnaikNaveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, is also a bachelor and is ruling Odisha since 2000.
