Kolkata:  Lashing out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for accusing the BJP of hiring goons from the CPI(M), BJP state President Rahul Sinha today said that he would rather commit suicide than align with the communists.

Sinha also observed that the Trinamool Congress leadership was fast losing its mental balance due to the rise of BJP in Bengal.

“The Trinamool Congress leadership is fast losing its mental balance because of the BJP's rise in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee is saying that goons from CPI(M) are coming to BJP on deputation and we are taking the help of the CPI(M) to grow in Bengal.

Before taking the help of CPI(M) I will rather prefer to commit suicide,” Sinha said.  On the contrary, Banerjee herself was banking on the Left to tide over the next Assembly polls, Sinha alleged.

“After the Lok Sabha poll results were out, she herself had offered to help the Left to rebuild their organisation to stop the growth of BJP and now she is saying that we are aligning with CPI(M),” Sinha said expressing surprise.

Sinha along with BJP national vice president Dinesh Sharma was launcing the BJP's membership drive in the state.  “Right now membership is now around 6 lakhs. Our aim is to increase the party membership by three folds,” said Sinha.
